Researcher required for Case Study on the Philippines’ Participation in Global Health Institutions
Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva
Description: The Centre for Trade and Economic Integration at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva is looking for a Researcher for a short term period. The Researcher would undertake a case study of the Philippines’ participation (by government and non state actors) in several international health institutions (such as the World Health Organization, or the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Codex Alimentarius and others).
This case study would contribute towards a Research Project on ‘Stakeholder Participation in International Governance’. In recent years international institutions have introduced reforms to better integrate stakeholders that hitherto had been marginalized. The purpose of the project is to understand what consequences such reforms have had with respect to marginalized countries and vulnerable stakeholders. Have such reforms improved the influence of hitherto marginalized and vulnerable voices? Have the reforms improved the legitimacy and effectiveness of international rule making?
Background: The candidate should ideally have a background in either of the fields of law, political science, International relations or health. The candidate would ideally have local knowledge of the Philippines. The candidate need not be based in Geneva.
Please send your CV with a short cover letter laying out your background and why you fit for this position to ayelet.berman@graduateinstitute.ch. For any questions regarding this position, please contact me at the same email. Deadline for applications is 9 July 2016.
