First edition of the International Summer School on “The Regulation of Robotics in Europe: Ethical, Legal and Economic Implications” (www.europeregulatesrobotics- summerschool.santannapisa.it)

This unique initiative, funded by the European Commission through the Jean Monnet Program, stems from the successful experience of the RoboLaw (www.robolaw.eu) project and its subsequent developments.

The aim of the summer school is to provide students with a broad understanding of the many relevant implications of the regulation of robotics in Europe by

(i)                 Analyzing applicable European regulation and the standards enterprises need to conform to;

(ii)               Discussing the relevant ethical and societal issues existing and foreseeable;

(iii)             Analyzing the economic and management challenges robotic enterprises face

The teaching body is extremely diversified, including Lawyers, Engineers, Philosophers, Business and Management Experts, many of which directly participated in the RoboLaw project, to provide the most interdisciplinary perspective.

The coordinator of the Summer School is Dr. Bertolini, Assistant Professor of Private Law at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, and one of the leading experts in the regulation of robotics in Europe.
